Glowing & In LOVE is exactly how you should be on your wedding day!

Here is an absolute dreamy wedding at Bridal Veil Lakes shot by [me!] Portland base wedding photographer, Erica Hartman.

Carrie is one of my close college friends and is completely responsible for sparking my intrigue with Portland.  If you’re happy I’m here, you should thank her [and my fiance!]  After an attempted move up together, then a move back home… 3 years in between… we now both live in Portland and have businesses just minutes from each other in the Pearl.  It’s pretty awesome to have an old friend here!  Almost as awesome as her finding the love of her life in the Pacific NW!  It was always meant to be :)

I have to say, I was actually there on Chris & Carries first (un-official) date.  Yup.  The LUCKY Lab, a few beers and one lady who-ALWAYS-gets-what-she-wants set the scene for a happily ever after to be!  I’m not quite sure Chris knew it at the time, but saying yes to hanging out after a soccer game was one smart decision!  Chris is the Rector at St. Michael & All Angels and Carrie is a Massage Therapist and the owner of Balanced Bodywork .  These sweet, fun loving, career oriented ladies are a perfect match and it was an honor to photograph their wedding. They set a true example of what it means to love and to marry. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!  xoxo ~

Below are a few of my favorites from their wedding day at Bridal Veil Lakes.

Sarah & Will were married at McMenamins Edgefield on a beautiful day in late August.  I am in LOVE with all the  sweet vintage-y details of their wedding! Words can not do it justice – pictures can – enjoy!

Angela & Hutch are married!

I was incredibly honored and excited to photograph their beautiful Oregon Coast wedding this past August.  After visiting the Oregon Coast with her father, Angela just knew it would be the perfect setting for her future wedding.  After Hutch proposed, it was only a matter of weeks [can you believe it?!] before they were standing barefoot in the sand, exchanging vows and uniting their two fun loving families.  I’m so happy for you both and I wish you a lifetime of joy & un-waivering love!

Kisses for a beautiful aunt & bride to be!

Hutch.  You look SO handsome waiting there to see your gorgeous bride for the first time!

I LOVE first sights.  They truly enable a couple to bask in the first intimate moments of their wedding day together.

You two are glowing!

Hutch [the hubby] did an amazing job constructing this arbor of collected drift wood found on the coast that morning.  I’m pretty sure it was a fun adventure for all of the kids to join in on ;)  I loved the idea that it was hand built and thought it would be a perfect backdrop for her gorgeous bouquet!  All floral design [& wedding coordination] by the fabulous Creations by Ly team.

Their wedding ceremony took place on the beach with proposal rock perfectly placed in the background.  Gorgeous!

Angela.  You look stunning!

Creations by Ly did an amazing job of bringing Angela’s vision [of an elegant & intimate dinner party reception by candle light] to life. I want to steal every bit of detail inspiration for my own future wedding!  Super sweet and romantic!

These gorgeous letter press menus were a surprise gift from Nadia.  Love.

My mouth is watering.  Again.  Yes, dinner & desert were just as delicious as they look!

And how much fun are those cookies?!  Perfect for the hubby, an Auburn University graduate!

katherine + h.j. =  in love.  engaged. & tying the knot!

It’s not an overload of images if they’re all AMAZING, is it?  I couldn’t part with any of these and so I simply had to share them all!  Thank you -and- you’re welcome :)

These two lovebirds met while studying at the University of Oregon.  Ummmm.  Actually, I believe it was at a greek party – quite possibly their most memorable greek party ever.  Yup, I’d say that meeting your future Mr. & Mrs. to be is reason enough to take a little study break and head for the jello shots!   Quite a few years later they are more in love than ever, engaged and planning a wedding.  LOVE!  I know it’s a little less than a year away but I’m already looking forward to their wedding!  I had an amazing time venturing out for their engagement pictures – they are both as sweet as it gets!

Look at them.  Katherine & H.J – you both are glowing!

Katherine – you had the cutest, most comforted expressions when you were snuggling up together!

Dock-siders & strapy wedges are perfect accessories for an engagement session in the South Waterfront of Portland.

Dress by Anthropology.  Perfect for a little Marilyn Monroe breeze!

Ummm.  Can we say picture perfect smiles?!

Oh yes.  Did I mention we went SAILING?  Did I mention it was my first sailing trip EVER?!

H.J’s father is an oh-so-adventurous sailor and was happy to steer the wheel for a while.  I actually think he would have preferred to nix the pictures completely and sail full speed ahead!  With the wind, the choppy seas and an adventure seeking captain, exciting doesn’t even begin to describe my fist sailing trip – I’m totally hooked!  I should also note that all of my equipment is now fully insured ;)

Katherine & H.J. – as the boat was rocking side to side,  you two did an amazing job of blocking out the wind and hamming it up for the camera.  You both look cool, calm, collected and gorgeous!   You totally rocked your engagement session and I hope you’re loving your pictures as much as I do.  Cheers to your upcoming wedding!

maegan + ryan = in love.  engaged.  & tying the knot!

Maegan and Ryan are two of the cutest love birds I’ve had the pleasure to meet and photograph this year.  They are beautiful people {inside and out} and simply adore each other.  I adore that!

Their love story  relates to a little fairytale come true.. for them & their sweet mamas!  Their parents met while traveling and quickly became great friends & travel buddies.   Next thing you know, they’re planning innocent introductions amongst the single kids!  Isn’t that a parents dream?  To LOVE the in-laws!  I’m pretty sure most parents secretly hope to set their kids up with their friends kids – ensuring a future of  fond family memories.   I’m almost certain mine did ;)  So when Maegan and Ryan met, they fell in love and are proving their parents a match making success!

With everyone sharing a love for good wine, we were excited to start the afternoon amongst the lush, sun drenched vineyards of Oswego Hills Winery.

This was the perfect backdrop for the smiles they have and the chemistry they share.

After rocking their pictures at Owswego Hills, we jetted across the street to Luscher Farms for more sun drenched rustic yumminess.

I LOVEEEEEE her dresses, WANT those shoes and BELIEVE every couple in love should kiss like that!!

Maegan & Ryan are getting married this September at The Oregon Golf Club in West Linn.  To say I’m excited about their wedding is an understatement.  I’m so looking forward to meeting the fun-filled group of family & friends I keep hearing about and to capture more of their beautiful chemistry as they tie the knot!!  Click HERE for their gorgeous wedding pictures! x0x0

I had such a fun time with the lovely ladies of Champagne Wedding & Event Coordination!

Established in 2009, Mandi & Rachelle have put together a sought after team of coordinators.  Taking the stress away, they’ll help the planning process remain fun, exciting and enjoyable!   What bride wouldn’t want that?!  As a bride to be, that’s on the top of my list!

As a new addition to their studio in the pearl (excitedly, I started sharing the space in early March!) I get to see their hard-at-work-smiling-faces often :)  When asked to photograph a few new head shots for the team, how could I resist?!  Not only was it a great way to get to know them just a bit better,  it was also the perfect opportunity to test shooting here in [and around!] the studio for the first time.  And. I. LOVE’d IT!!

What an honor!  I was totally flattered when Nadia, of Creations by Ly asked if I would join the room she was sponsoring at Weddings of the World last month.  Of course.  I LOVE her work, and adore her!  Rick and I are lucky enough to have her by our side, coordinating our wedding :)  Ha.  I can’t even tell you how comforting that is… even just to say!

Weddings of the World is the Pacific NW’s largest multi-cultural wedding show.  The event showcases three themed rooms: The Asian Wedding Showcase (sponsored by non other than Creations by Ly – pictures below!), a Russian Wedding Showcase & an Indian Wedding Showcase.  Talk about inspiration – ALL rooms were amazingly designed!   For bride & grooms to be, it was a wonderful way to see how visions transform.  For me, it was also a great day for mingling with other very talented wedding industry folks!

As no photographer goes anywhere major without her camera, I was able to capture the magic that Nadia and her team created in the Asian Wedding Showcase.  Check out her work below!

Check out these gorgeous linens.  BeaUtiful!!  I love the pop and elegance of purple & gold!
